Today Pearle* launches its publication On the European Stage, a list of priorities of live performance organisations to be tackled by EU policy makers in the new legislative term starting this year.“We urgently need forward-looking initiatives and an environment where cultural cooperation can thrive in Europe. This implies simplified rules, lighter regimes and less administration when touring and special provisions to maximize the potential of the live performance sector”, says Anita Debaere, Director at Pearle* - Live Performance Europe. The publication defines four action areas to move the live performance sector forward. It calls on EU policy makers to shape a stimulating environment for the creation of live events; put culture at the heart of the European project; stop administrative burdens for touring companies and artists; provide for targeted solutions for employment and social challenges in the live performance sector.
